Tammy, what a cool mom you are! I'm not sure how I found your blog (homeschooling, maybe?) but enjoyed reading your story. We knew nothing about TCGs until our kiddos (mainly the boys, now almost 11 and 13) got into them a couple of years ago. They still love Pokemon and have tried to teach me to "battle." (I lost - but there will be a rematch!) They, too, are planning a big trip to NYC - not to see the magnificent historical landmarks - no! To see the Times Square Toys R Us, the American Girl Place, and Pokemon Center! We also have enjoyed a TCG called Anachronism that we play at our local comic store. (the teacher in me pushes that one, but truth is, the Pokemon are way cuter!) Nice meeting you. I'll pop back in sometime.
