I picked up Prism for the DS for only $9.99 at GameStop, figuring that even if it wasn't all that great, I wouldn't be out much cash.
It's actually a pretty decent game. The puzzles are challenging, and there are a lot of them.
I ended up giving it to my son because it's not my kind of puzzle game (I like puzzles like Tetris and MahJong), and he loves it.
Well worth $9.99.

Nintendo DSi at Midnight
Yes, my husband is going to go pick up his DSi at midnight.
I wonder if he'll be the only 38-year-old there.

Pokemon Platinum Launch Party Spectacular in New York
If you are lucky enough to live in New York, and you're a Pokemon fan, there's a party waiting for you!
On March 21st at the Pokemon World Store in Rockefeller Plaza, at 12-4, you can experience Pokemon in full force! They are even encouraging people to come dressed up as their favorite Pokemon character.
We're on the west coast, so we're not going to be there, unfortunately. If we lived in or near New York, we would definitely be partying with all the other Pokemon fans.

Nintendo DS Used as Teaching Tools in Japanese Schools
I've often marveled at the number of educational titles available for the DS. Now a handful of Japanese schools have decided to include them in their curriculum.
Go Japan!

Pokemon Platinum Official Game Guide
If you pre-ordered Pokemon platinum, like us, don't forget to get the official game guide.
Although I don't like to use the game guides when I first start playing the Pokemon adventures, my kids like to read all about the secrets. So, when I get stuck, I'll ask my daughter and she'll know exactly how to get through an area or to get a special pokemon.
Sometimes it's nice when our kids know more than we do.

Trading Pokemon on the Nintendo DS
This nice guy is offering his pokemon to people over wifi. I'm having trouble understanding how this works. I can hook up to other DS' with wifi, but is there some central network or something?
Anyone know how I can get a "box" from this person offering to trade his pokemon?
Thanks!

What Does Pokemon Platinum Look Like?
I was wondering if Pokemon Platinum for the DS will be just like all the other Pokemons. Well, it looks like they kept the classic Pokemon feel, but upgraded the graphics. Maybe even has some 3D effects going on. Can't wait!

Pokemon Platinum For You and Me - NOT!
For some reason, we had it in our head that the Pokemon Platinum was released yesterday. Imagine my bummed-outed-ness when I discovered that it's not due out until March 22nd.
Actually, I'm surprised at how bummed I am. I thought I was done with Pokemon and this game was for my hubby and daughter. Hmmm...

My Pokemon Died in the Mystery Dungeon
Yesterday, my chikorita died while battling in a dungeon. The difficulty level jumped up between scenarios from being super easy to really difficult, and it wasn't all that fun. I haven't turned my DS back on since then. It'll be a few days before I'm willing to go back and try again.
I think I'm missing something about battles or using my stuff. There's got to be a way to turn to face the thing I'm battling without taking a turn. And, I'm thinking I need to position myself better so that totodile can attack too.
In any case, the Mystery Dungeon is not as easy as I thought it was going to be. That, at once, makes me frustrated, and pleasantly surprised.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Time: Cheats and Codes
I found a site today that has a ton of cheats and codes for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Nintendo DS game.
At first, it seemed cool. But after a moment of thought, I realized it would ruin my fun, and decided against it.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Explorers of Darkness and Time
I just finished up Mahjong Quest on my Nintendo DS a couple of weeks ago. Although I don't play my DS a lot, I was tempted to look for another game while at Game Stop. The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games almost had me.
They look really fun. And this review pretty much says it all. Dungeons, pokemon, gathering stuff. Sounds like my kind of game.
I'm going to hold off until I can find a used copy, though. I still have a few other games, like Zoo Tycoon, waiting for me. But the Mystery Dungeons do look like fun. I'll have to get one eventually, and see how it is compared to Pokemon Pearl.

We Missed the Toys R Us Download!
Darn it! I didn't get this info until 8 o'clock this evening. So I missed the download from Toys R Us. If any of you are up on these kinds of things, email me (or leave a comment) when something like this is coming up. Please!
I play Pokemon DS Pearl. Hubby plays Diamond. Kids play red (old skool), and leaf green.
I've only earned 2 badges so far. Hey, that's not bad for someone who only plays a few hours a week!

Pokémon for DS
This mantyke blog is about Pokémon TCG. But after reading this review, I'm jonesin' for some Pokémon DS action.
Way back when, years ago, when pokémon was just starting out, I played one of the original pokémon games on the Gameboy. The old-school Gameboys. Mine was green.
I played so much, I got some kind of carpal tunnel thing in my thumb. And I had to stop.
Perhaps, one day, I might play the new pokemon on the DS. Maybe I should ask for the pink DS-lite for my bday?
